A & P Tyne Co Ltd, Hebburn, North Shields, South Shields & Wallsend

In April 2001 Cammell Laird went into receivership and later in the year their Birkenhead, Teesside and Tyneside shipyards were acquired by the A & P Shiprepair Group. The A & P Group were a large UK based ship repair and conversion company headquartered in Falmouth. Cammell Laird Gibraltar had been disposed of through a local management buyout as part of this deal. A&P Group then sold its Birkenhead subsidiary to Northwestern Shiprepairers & Shipbuilders in 2005.
