Shipbuilder: Thomas William Wawn, South Shields (1849 - 1849)

Thomas William Wawn was born at Sunderland but was apprenticed to T Forsyth in Thrift Street, South Shields.
He took a small shipyard at the Lawe in 1846, but owing to a bank failure in 1852, he had to close down.
He then took up a position as a Lloyds' Surveyor in the south of England.
He died in 1872.
