Comments: 02/11/1898: Tailshaft snapped in a storm and she lost all propulsion
06/11/1898: Taken in tow by MONTE VIDEAN, but tow line soon broke
In the 3hrs 40mins of towing they had made 8.25 miles
The tow line consisted of 5.5ins steel hawser attached to 40 fathoms of cable
The vessel was taking in water due to a hole caused by a propeller blade
06/11/1898: Vessel abandoned in the storm & left to sink by additional scuttling
Abandoned approximately 300 miles east of the Straits of Belle Isle
On a voyage from Hamburg to Montreal carrying general cargo
