Shipbuilder: Carr, Cassels & Co, Jarrow (1857 - 1857)

Carr, Cassels & Co was a partnership involving Benjamin Carr, George Stuart Cassels & Noble Carr Richardson, all of South Shields and they formed the partnership in order to finance and build the screw tug START in 1857. In the registration documents Benjamin Carr is described as a Shipbuilder, George Stuart Cassels as a Millwright and Noble Carr Richardson as a Founder and the launch or screw tug START was built at Jarrow in 1857. Cassels and Richardson, but not Carr were declared bankrupt in 1858.
