03/09/1878: Collided with and sank the passenger ferry PRINCESS ALICE in the Thames
The ferry was overloaded and over 650 people died and about 100 were rescued
Both captains took some blame but the PRICESS ALICE was found to be most at fault
29/01/1883: Missing after passing Cabo Carvoieiro on this date
On a voyage from Alexandria to Hull with a cargo of cottonseed & beans
