Comments: 1939: Converted to a tanker
28/01/1941: Damaged by a mine 3 miles S of Barry and beached at Porthkerry
On a voyage from Barry to Greenock and the USA in ballast
Wreck subsequently broke into two parts and was declared a total loss
Wreck was acquired by the Ministry of War Transport
The ship was subsequently joined together again at Cardiiff
08/09/1944: Torpedoed & sunk by U-Boat U482, 43 miles NW of Londonderry
On a voyage from New York to Liverpool & the Clyde with a cargo of fuel oil & deck cargo
All 113 people on board died
